Biography

Carl has spent his career specializing in the litigating and trying of civil cases. Today he focuses his practice on the defense of persons and entities in a wide variety of tort cases involving personal injury and wrongful death. He is board certified by the Florida Bar and nationally board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as an expert in civil trial law.

Carl has meshed his legal career with service to his community and bar association. He currently serves as his judicial circuit’s representative on the Board of Governors of the Florida Bar, the governing board of the bar. From 2003 to 2004, he served as the President of the local bar association. The Supreme Court of Florida has chosen Carl to its 21-member Work Group on Standards for Jury Panel Sizes. He has also been involved in local government, being twice elected as Commissioner of the City of South Miami (1984 to 1990). Carl has been appointed to the faculty of the University of Florida Levin College of Law as an adjunct professor of law where he has taught trial practice and served as the faculty advisor to its trial team.

He and his wife, Anna, have two children and reside in Gainesville.
